Family law is the only work the firm does. Not a family law department inside a general practice, and not one of several things on a services list. That is a deliberate limit: the areas the firm declines are the reason it can be useful in the ones it takes.
The practice is small on purpose. Two partners means there is no intake team, no file handler and no junior learning on your matter, and it means the person who hears your situation first is the person who writes the material and appears on it.
What that means in practice
Prepared as though it will be heard. Most of them are not.
Most family law matters resolve without a judge deciding them, and the ones that do resolve tend to be the ones that were properly prepared. Disclosure chased early, material drafted carefully, offers put in writing at the right moment.
That is also the honest reason a firm can say what a realistic range of outcomes looks like at the start rather than after months of correspondence. You will be told the parts that are not in your favour, because the alternative costs you more.

- Held by Ben Vincent personally, accredited through the Law Institute of Victoria. Troy Broussard is a family lawyer and co-founder and does not hold specialist accreditation.
- Victoria Legal Aid Section 29A panel firm
- The firm can act for clients whose family law matters are funded by Victoria Legal Aid. Eligibility is decided by Victoria Legal Aid, not by this firm.

The office is at G02/685 Burke Road, Camberwell VIC 3124, open 9am to 5pm, monday to friday. Clients come from across Melbourne and the firm appears in family law matters throughout Victoria.
